First Friday Five Linkup

Five Favorite Summer Drinks

This is my first Five Friday post so I hope I am doing this right! Thanks Courtney, Cynthia and Mar for hosting!

When I first thought of five drinks that I love during the summer, I immediately thought of five alcoholic drinks (no I am not an alcoholic, Mom). I decided to revise that list a bit so this is what I have:

  1. Water-There is nothing like an ice cold drink on an extremely hot and humid day. D.C. has had a lot of those this summer so having water has been a must.
  2. Margaritas-This is definitely one of my go-to drinks whenever I eat out.
  3. Pina Coladas- Whenever I want a fruity, alcoholic drink, I usually pick a pina colada or sangria. I chose pina colada for this list because I have this cool picture of a pina colada that I had in Puerto Rico.
  4. Starbucks Iced Chai Latte- There are about a million and one Starbucks in the DC area and this is my go-to drink whenever I go to one during the summer. I have even tried to make my own version at home and it was pretty good.
  5. Smoothies-I love being able to taste the different flavors and they’re so refreshing.

ETA: After writing this, my fiancé brought up the fact that I love milkshakes…and it’s true. I just don’t usually like to admit how much I love them or how often I have them….

      Hi Mar!

Thanks for the welcome and I love your blog! Margaritas are delicious especially since they come in so many different flavors. I need to get better at drinking water (I drink it while at work but should drink it when I am at home as well). I look forward to doing more Friday Fives.

      Hi Abby,

Your blog is really cute and you have inspired me to eventually make a Facebook fan page for mine. One of my favorite places is Capitol City Brewery near Metro Center because they basically give you two margaritas in one siting. This is some what off topic but if you want a place to get an excellent (and strong!) mimosa, I would suggest going to Scion. I usually go to the one in DuPont Circle but I think there is a location in Silver Spring too.

      Hi Carrie,

Doesn’t count at all :-p. I just need to have kids in order to use that excuse. For now I’ll say its my cat’s milkshake haha.

Thanks and it’s nice meeting you as well.
